Volunteering
Are you looking for something to do, want to join a social group or gain some new skills? Volunteering is a great way to keep in shape, mentally and physically. At Combe Martin Silver Mine we welcome new helpers and volunteers. We have two teams, Thursday and Sunday, whose focus is divided on works either above or below ground.
Skills
If you can bring some with you that’s fantastic, otherwise there’s lots for you to learn onsite. Carpentry, metal work, brick laying, gardening, mining, mechanics, archaeology. If you are interested or would simply like more information, please get in contact with us by email or Facebook, details on our contact page.
THURSDAY TEAM
Thursday is usually dedicated to above ground works, performing site maintenance, machinery repair and investigative archaeology.
SUNDAY TEAM
Most Sundays we work under ground, although some volunteers do like to remain above ground! Under ground we typically spend time on maintenance, securing, building platforms and digging.
